Falling below this results in an academic warning and repeating the level. Failing Limit: You are allowed to fail a level a maximum of 2 times total during your time at The English Island. Level Changes: If you feel you are in the wrong level, speak to your teacher first. If they disagree, you may ask the Academic Director to retake the placement tests. Academic Integrity: Cheating on a quiz or test results in an automatic 0 for that assignment, with harsher penalties for repeated offenses. Attendance Threshold: Daily, on-time attendance is mandatory. There are no excused absences. Dropping below 80% attendance for a term results in an attendance warning. Failing Limit: You are allowed to fall below 80% attendance for a term a maximum of 2 times total during your time at The English Island. Payment Deadlines: You must pay tuition according to the payment schedule. Late payments may result in late fees, suspension, or dismissal. Leave Policy: If on any leave (medical, academic, etc.), you must continue paying tuition and make up all missed work. No Refunds: Books, fees, and tuition are non-refundable. Textbooks: Required textbooks must be brought to class daily. Failing to have required textbooks results in penalties. Student Conduct: Violations of student conduct policies, as described in the Student Handbook, may result in a warning, probation, suspension, dismissal, or other appropriate action. Vacation: Vacation requests must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the end date of the term before the requested vacation term. Your account balance must be completely clear, and you must pay an $800 non-refundable vacation deposit to secure your spot in the program upon return.
